Handbook

This handbook covers daily operation of your unu Scooter Pro running Librescoot, from the first keycard tap to waking the scooter from hibernation.

Before you start

This handbook describes the scooter as you'll use it once Librescoot is installed. If you still need to flash, start with the installation guide.

Day-to-day operation stays familiar. Keycard, brake levers, seatbox switch, and battery swaps all work like they did before. A summary of everything that changed is on Changes from scooterOS; the relevant pages link there directly.

This is the first English pass and only the most important pages are translated so far. Pages still only available in German are marked below.

Quick start

The essential things right after installation: opening the menu, the in-ride shortcut menu, getting maps and firmware updates onto the scooter via USB, and entering and saving navigation destinations.

Getting started

Walks you through the first boot after flashing, from power-on to teaching in the keycard to a short function check.

Riding

Unlocking, riding, stopping, and parking. Covers the controls on the handlebar and the automatic steering lock.

Troubleshooting

What to do when the scooter won't turn on, when the display shows an error code, or when something else has gone wrong.

Changes from scooterOS

What's different compared to the original unu firmware, from the missing cloud connectivity to the new on-display features.

The display (de)

Battery & energy (de)

The main battery, the second battery, the internal AUX/CBB cells, charging, and the on-display battery warnings. Currently only available in German.

States (de)

Navigation (de)

Riding with active navigation, what the on-display instructions mean, and how the map and speed limits are shown. Currently only available in German.

Updates (de)

How an OTA update works, what you see on the display while it runs, and what to avoid during an update. Currently only available in German.

Help and community

Librescoot is a community project. If you run into something this handbook doesn't cover, or if something doesn't behave the way it's described here, we'd like to hear about it on the Discord or as an issue on GitHub.

In an emergency, the same rules apply as for any other vehicle. Whether it's a crash, a breakdown, or a medical incident: stop, secure the scene, and call the local emergency number if in doubt.
