Quick start

The main Librescoot features at a glance. For a fresh installation, start with Getting started.

Ride, park and use the menus

Ride and park: tap your enrolled keycard, release the handlebar lock at the left stop and raise the kickstand to ride. To finish, lower the kickstand and lock with the card. You have about 60 seconds to move the handlebars left so the handlebar lock engages. See Riding.
Main menu: while parked, pull the left brake twice quickly. A short left pull scrolls; a short right pull selects. Hold left to go back, or for three seconds to close. See menu controls.
Riding shortcuts: hold the seatbox switch until the wanted action is highlighted, release, then press again within three seconds to confirm. Two short presses toggle the hazard lights. See shortcut controls.

Install map and routing data, then enter an address, choose a recent destination or save a place. Offline maps and routing work without a SIM.

Your own keycards

Add more cards with a master card directly at the dashboard, without SSH.

Hop-on / hop-off

Set a control-button combination for short stops, then enter it again to resume. Lock normally before leaving the scooter unattended.

Customize the display

Choose a light or dark theme, battery percentage or range, and which status indicators to show. The clock gets its time from GPS, including offline.

Built-in alarm

Switch on Enable on Lock in the Vehicle settings. The alarm arms in standby and disarms when you unlock; horn use is optional.

Hibernation and automatic wake-up

Choose a sleep duration or recurring schedule in the companion app. Wake early with both brakes held for about six seconds or a paired Bluetooth connection.

Bluetooth updates

Use stasis for unu (Android, iOS) to transfer a matching delta update. This is the suggested path for most updates on Librescoot 1.2+. Lock the scooter into standby to let it finish and restart.

USB transfers

Use Update Mode for maps, routing data, recovery or manual firmware updates. The MDB's USB Mini-B port is inside the footwell; reconnect its internal dashboard cable afterwards.

Connectivity and Sunshine

Reactivate the onboard SIM through Sunshine or fit an adapter for your own SIM. Add remote monitoring and automatic downloads. Sunshine cloud use is free; onboard-SIM connectivity has a paid plan.

Browser setup with lsd

Development builds include lsd: connect over the MDB's USB network and open 192.168.7.1:8090 for status, settings, keycards, files and updates.
