Scooter Alarm

The built-in alarm detects motion and tampering while the scooter is parked. Everyday use – arming, the dashboard menu, and what happens when it triggers – is covered in the Handbook's Riding page; this page documents the full behavior and configuration.

How it works

When Enable on Lock is active, the alarm arms after the scooter enters standby. Unlocking the scooter disarms it. A manual disarm is temporary: if the scooter remains in standby, the alarm starts re-arming after a five-minute quiet period.

An armed alarm can be triggered by:

  • Motion — enabled by default
  • Buttons — presses of the left brake, right brake, horn, or seatbox button; enabled by default as one group
  • Seatbox — opening the seatbox without an authorized unlock
  • Handlebar — the handlebar lock changing to unlocked, or the handlebar position changing to off-place; optional and disabled by default

To avoid false positives while parking, handlebar triggers are ignored for 90 seconds after arming. An off-position reading must then persist for one second before it triggers the alarm.

For diagnosis, the alarm records the source and timestamp of the last trigger.

Dashboard settings

Open Settings → Vehicle → Alarm. The dashboard provides:

  • Enable on Lock — arm the alarm when the scooter enters standby
  • Honk on Trigger — use the horn when the alarm triggers
  • Duration — choose 10, 20, or 30 seconds

The individual trigger-source switches are advanced settings and do not appear as dashboard rows.

Advanced: CLI configuration

Use the current lsc commands to inspect or change the alarm:

lsc alarm status # Show alarm state and settings
lsc alarm arm # Enable the alarm; it arms in standby
lsc alarm disarm # Temporarily disarm the alarm; it may re-arm after five minutes in standby

lsc settings set alarm.enabled true
lsc settings set alarm.honk true
lsc settings set alarm.duration 20

Advanced trigger-source switches accept true or false:

lsc settings set alarm.trigger.motion true
lsc settings set alarm.trigger.motion false
lsc settings set alarm.trigger.buttons true
lsc settings set alarm.trigger.buttons false
lsc settings set alarm.seatbox-trigger true
lsc settings set alarm.seatbox-trigger false
lsc settings set alarm.trigger.handlebar true
lsc settings set alarm.trigger.handlebar false
